A tale about Grandfather Trent, an antiques dealer who has lost his fortune through gambling and makes matters worse by borrowing money from the miserable Mr. Quilp. Unable to repay the debt, Trent and his granddaughter, Sally try to escape London, which turns Quilp's wrath upon them.
